R&D Funding from the Government of Canada

The global yeast technology company Renaissance BioScience Corp. (RBSC) announced on 6 June 2017 that it will receive a multi-year, non-repayable contribution of up to CAD 500,000 from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). The funding will support the company’s ongoing research and development efforts through the advancement of its proprietary, non-genetically modified organisms (non-GMO) yeast strain development platform.

As part of the company’s continuous focus to develop innovative non-GMO yeast technology, RBSC is engaged in not only the research and development of novel yeast strains for commercialization, but also the discovery and utilization of advanced technology capable of improving the company’s proprietary strain development platform.

“We are pleased to receive funding from IRAP in support of furthering our next-generation non-GMO yeast development platform,” said Dr. Matthew Dahabieh, Chief Science Officer. “The assistance offered by IRAP is an important catalyst for us to enhance our strain development capabilities and will enable us to take the next step in offering innovative next-generation yeast technology to our customers. We thank the Government of Canada and IRAP and for their support.”
