Anniversary of a High-Tech Location
50 Years ZIEMANN FRANCE - It’s the multi-talent of the family. The successful business activities of the French subsidiary ZIEMANN FRANCE extend well beyond the brewing industry. A company which stands out above all with its innovative production technologies and top-level expertise is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Over the past decades ZIEMANN FRANCE has become a major pillar of the ZIEMANN GROUP.
Whether it is the foods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, bioethanol or the chemicals industry – ZIEMANN FRANCE takes up a frontline position in many industrial sectors. And where its “big sister“ in Bürgstadt is more or less exclusively involved in the processing of stainless steel, manufacturing at ZIEMANN FRANCE also includes duplex, nickel alloy and aluminum processing. These materials are first and foremost used for making vessels with volumes ranging from 100 liters up to 600 m³. The vessels are with diameters measuring up to 6.8 m, extend to heights of 30 m and more and weigh up to 50 tons. For large vessels of this kind the manufacturing can, of course, also be carried out on site using mobile automatic production systems which have been designed specifically for these applications.
The spaciously designed manufacturing plant is located in Sarre-Union, in the Alsace, on a site of over 16,500 m². In state-of-the-art production halls which are fitted with the very latest equipment in metal processing ZIEMANN FRANCE uses cutting-edge manufacturing techniques such as the high-energy explosion process, for example. This method is not subject to possible technical restrictions of other metal forming processes and is thus able to meet specific requirements and standards set by the customer. The CNC laser-welding method is predominantly used to provide perfect welding of double jacket sheets. The company also has a highly efficient underwater plasma cutting plant.
Always in keeping with the internationally valid regulations and standards ZIEMANN FRANCE produces processing and storage vessels, columns, reactors, cooling and heating columns, heat exchangers, storage and mixing silos, homogenizing silos, dryers of stainless steel and aluminum in every size. In doing so, the patented welded plate heat exchanger, for example, provides maximum heat transfer with minimal pressure loss – and in the smallest of space: With the same volume its performance is four times that of conventional tube heat exchangers. The devices from Sarre-Union are used, among other things, as batteries in fluidized bed dryers, submersed in process baths and installed in reactors as flow breakers.
