Continued growth in Germany

The InBev company in Germany (Beck’ s, Franziskaner Weissbier, Hasseröder) increased its sales volume in the third quarter 2008 by 8.8 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. The financial statement of the first nine months shows an increase of overall 6.4 percent.

This development has been considerably pushed by the premium brand Beck’ s that increased its sales volume in the third quarter by 16 percent world-wide.

Its market leadership in the section of soft drinks mixed with beer (10.9 percent according to A.C. Nielsen; beer brands) was further strengthened by the successful launch of Beck’ s Ice in April 2008. In the Weissbier section Franziskaner Weissbier is holding the fort as the second largest German Weissbier brand with a market share of 12.9 percent.
