AB-InBev raise prices

Small brewers will be relieved. As of February 2014, AB-InBev, the country’s major brewer, will raise wholesale prices of beer by EUR 0.015 per glass. That’s EUR 0.06 per litre or EUR 2.40 per 50 litre keg.

On average brewers charge EUR 120 per keg of pils, the country’s mainstay beer, although discounts vary widely and can reduce the price of a keg by almost 50 percent in some cases.

Still, Belgium’s smaller brewers will be relieved to see AB-InBev charge ahead. Rest assured that they will soon follow with their own price hike announcements.
