Brewing Industry International Awards 2011: Championship winners
With its 125 year history, The Brewing Industry International Awards is one of the oldest beer tastings throughout the world. It focuses exclusively on the consumers’ opinion.
After a six-year interval, the judging for the Brewing Industry International Awards 2011 took place at the National Brewery Centre in Burton upon Trend from 9 – 11 February (read more about it in BRAUWELT International No. 2 2011, p. 113 ff.). In a three-day tasting an expert jury assessed a total of 800 beers.
On 12 April 2011, the Championship beers were announced during the BfBi Annual National Luncheon at the Award Ceremony at the London Guildhall.
The winning beers are the best in nine categories. The Champion Beers were selected from the Gold medal winners in each category.
Below is a list of the Champion Beer winners:
• Champion Smallpack Lager: Bintang, Multi Bintang Indonesia (Asia Pacific Brewery)
