Accessibility statement
This digital application (BRAUWELT app / website of Fachverlag Hans Carl GmbH), provided by PressMatrix GmbH, Friedrichstraße 171, 10117 Berlin, Germany, includes both a web application and mobile applications for iOS and Android.
Accessibility status
The accessibility requirements in accordance with the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) in conjunction with EU Directive 2019/882 are currently partially met. The test was carried out on the basis of WCAG 2.1 conformance level AA and relevant requirements for mobile applications.
Web client (browser version)
• Keyboard operation is fully possible.
• Screen reader compatibility is provided.
• Some content does not contain alternative text.
• PDF downloads do not comply with the PDF/UA standard.
• Colour contrasts are sometimes insufficient.
iOS/Android apps
• Screen reader support (VoiceOver, TalkBack) is generally provided.
• Navigation and basic functions are accessible.
• Individual controls and graphics are not correctly labelled.
• Error messages (e.g., during login) are deliberately reduced (for security reasons).
• Contrast ratios and focus guidance are not optimized in all areas.
Accessible alternatives
• All articles are available in an accessible HTML view.
• Article content can also be output as a synthetic audio version.
• There is a contact option for reporting barriers.
Reasons for individual restrictions
The complete accessible preparation of archived content in particular (e.g. PDFs) currently represents a disproportionate economic burden within the meaning of Section 3 (3) BFSG. In addition, individual security-related restrictions are deliberately imposed when displaying error messages.
